1. Know your audience
Each social media has its own type of users. Facebook, for instance, is mainly used by females in their twenties, while Twitter has a higher male-female ratio. Research your selected media platform well, and identify the topics and interests of its user. This will help you choose the platform that will speak to your target audience.
2. Quality Content
Social media is all about posting engaging and high quality content. Your texts need to be informative, yet suitable for sharing (especially if you’re posting on Facebook or Twitter). Don’t be afraid to experiment until you see what work best for you!
3. Visual content is key
Especially for Instagram, but also vital for all other sorts of social media platforms. According to a Harvard research, more than 70% of Facebook activity revolves around images! Just make sure that all of yours are high quality (preferably professional), creative and inspiring to your audience.
4. Build relationship
The way to expand your business and raise awareness of your brand is by being pro-active. This includes, but is not only limited to your customers’ feedback or enquiries. Connect with other brands offering similar services and attend offline events, related to the industry.
5. Pay attention to your data
Most social media platforms offer informative charts and stats to help you measure your success – take advantage of these! Utilise the click-through, conversion rates and shares, and keep an eye on your traffic. This will help you establish which strategies work best and which don’t, and change your tactics, according to the results.
