Jonathan has had a winding route to where he is now! Born in Yorkshire in England, he studied languages through school and college, but went to university to retrain as a chef and Hotel Manager. During his "Industry Year" at Uni, he worked as a UK Cultural Representative in Disney World Florida and got his first taste of the power of marketing researching the sounds, vision and smells of the Disney parks.
In 1994 Jonathan got a job as a junior hotel manager (Purser) on a cruise ship sailing out of Alaska. The idea was that he could see the world for a year and earn at the same time. Eleven years later he was still there having traveled the world, project managed new build ships in France, Italy and Japan and reached the rank of Chief Purser.
Bringing this operational experience back to Australia, he trained travel agents how to sell and market cruises, was national sales manager for a number of cruise lines, then national marketing manager for a hospitality company. He has taught marketing to TAFE students and started his own entertainment company which he still runs with his wife Alex.
Jonathan started the Ripple Group after becoming increasingly frustrated with traditional marketing agencies and web developers who prey on the customer's ignorance of the process and cost of marketing.
